who is at fault for buying a mobile home on a lease to buy option with no paperwork

my father recently got into an agreement on a mobile home with property and was buying in payments due to lack of financing in the area for mobile homes he had made all payments and was not behind at all. the owners have changed their mind on the payments wanted all money up front and wants the property vacated no paperwork was done but all proof of payments have been kept. on more than one occasion the paperwork was asked for and the owners never gave any. A lawyer was contacted and brought up to speed on the situation he did send a letter requesting the information and never received any. This was after about two years of payments now itbhas been three years and thirty thousand dollars later and they want to pull out we will go to court but would like some info if anybody has been in this situation
