we currently own a 14 x 70 1980 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath mobile home in NC and thinking about buying a 1 acre lot in Alamance County to put the mobile home on. Right now we have it on a private lot and renting the lot but want something of our own to put the mobile home own, Someone told us a older mobile home could not be moved, is this true or would it be sensible to make this move,
got any suggestions ?

Yes its moveable

Yes it is possible . People move regular houses all the timeyours is already up off the ground and may even have axels.

moving a 1980 home

Check with the State Agency that governs mobile homes. Make sure you get permission to move it before moving it. Also, call a mobile home mover in your area and they should know.

Normally this is fine as long as you file the proper paperwork. And it is a good idea if the home is still in good shape.
