Insltion in the ductwork

We have lived for 18 years in a 30 year old triple wide Budger. I have cancer and my wife is troubled with congestion problems.
Looking on the inside of our ceiling ductwork it appears to be inslated with asbestos, or a material that looks like asbestos.
Could this be a likely cause of our ilnesses?
