Here is what happens when your mobile home has a leak
If you have a leak in your mobile home, it is extremely important to fix it immediately. This means roof leaks and plumbing leaks.
You see, the materials used in most mobile homes, especially older homes is press board, particle board, or some variation thereof. When this type of material gets wet, it loses it's strength and integrity.
Letting a leak continue will lead to soft or holes in the floor, walls, and ceilings.
Check out this video where some repairmen are video taping the linolium floor being pulled up only to reveal the floor is so damaged that you can put your foot right through it - which they do!
Again, look for and fix all plumbing and roof leaks immediately. This will save you tons of money in the long run and headaches.
Roof leaks can be as simple to fix as re-sealing the roof. This could be as simple as a $15 can of re-sealer and getting up on the roof with a paint brush. Of course you should always hire a contractor for larger jobs if you don't work on roofs for a living, but make sure to check their references.
Plumbing leaks are easier to find, but can also prove more difficult to fix if you are not skilled in plumbing! Hire a handyman or plumber, but again, check references.
