Delaware votes NO on mobile home park rent increase justification
Argued for years, a measure to force mobile home park owners to get approval for rent increases before raising rents was not passed in the House for the State of Delaware.
The proposed measure would have required the Governor’s Advisory Council on Manufactured Housing to approve in advance any rent increases for mobile and manufactured park residents, many of which are on fixed incomes.
The good news is that this is the farthest the measure has gotten in the approval process, so the direction of change is good. Many lawmakers see this as an issue worth fighting for.
What do you think? Should mobile home park owners have to get approval from a watchdog agency before raising rents beyond the Cost index?
I think it is a good idea for sure.
